Fred Appleton Bio:
Fred Appleton was born along the banks of the St. Croix River near Somerset, Wisconsin. Fred will not discuss his age he simply says that he is “aged to perfection”
While attending classes at a University in nearby Iowa, Fred developed and explored interests in agriculture and beer. He wrote many short stories for the campus newspaper.
Fred is the author of many books including “The Unofficial Guide to the Cornfields of Iowa”, “The Wonderful World of Corn Trivia Volumes I & II”, and “Harvest Porter”.
Fred is perhaps best known for his timeless children’s classic “Pass the Corn your Pa is Hungry”.
Currently Fred is collaborating with Margaret Peach on a new travel book entitled “Corn in The Kingdom: A Kitchen Cabaret of the best Veggies and Fruit in Walt Disney World”
Margaret Peach was born Margaret Pit in Corbin City, New Jersey. Not long after her birth her family moved to Georgia.
As a teenager she was employed picking peaches and pecans for the Lane Packing Company. She enjoyed the camaraderie with fellow co-workers and remained a faithful employee throughout her college years. It was during these years that she met the love of her life and future husband Neal Peach.
Margaret has authored one book entitled “Simply Peachy” which is a recipe book that includes stories from her days spent working in the orchards.
Currently Margaret is collaborating with Fred Appleton on a new travel book entitled “Corn in The Kingdom: A Kitchen Cabaret of the best Veggies and Fruit in Walt Disney World”
